The Coat

The Coat

classification: paulesque

The Coat appears in The Comb and the Box. Joe wears it when he leaves the room during a rain storm.

The powers of The Coat, if they exist, are completely unknown. Since it is an object, and therefore indestructible, it serves Joe as a bullet proof vest.

The coat is a typical wool overcoat. It is dark gray with a conservative tweed pattern.

This type of coat may be found on eBay or in second hand stores. Note that it has cuffs, three buttons, open horizontal pockets, and a slit in the back.

The Coat is not a popular object to pursue. Consequently, little is known about finding it. Collectors tend to shy away from the coat because of its size and its indefinite brand and design. There is a natural tendency to seek smaller more definitive objects like the scissors and the clock.

Re: The Coat

I am leaning toward gray.

In the one picture you have cited, Joe is indoors. The lighting in the room may bring out red colors. Also, there is a tendency in the series to filter toward red.

In the outdoor images, where the lighting is probably truer, the coat appears gray.

Re: The Coat

Three buttons are clearly visible...but I think there might be a fourth there somewhere.

Re: The Coat

Oh there ARE four buttons!

See, on the above pic the fourth button is on top, lurking behind the collar, on the below pic the top button is showing and the fourth button, previously visible is now hiding behind the lower curl of the coat.

Image

Also note there are shoulder paddings in the coat

On this pic below you can see a glimpse of the texture, it looks like petite squares, with blue and brown hues.

The coat is actually quite thin, as it flows so fluently when Joe runs.

Re: The Coat

Any one got screen shots of Joe climbing fence or dragged down Karl hall, or in the closet or in the chair talking to Karl?

Need sizing on the collar and lapels.
Need the depth of the notch between collar and lapel.
Need weave pattern on the fabric. It is wool?

This pic shows the pocket is inbuilt, not on-sewn

The fence-climbing and floor-dragging do not show any aspects of the coat better than these pics
