A Complete Theory of the Objects and the Event

The Cleister Anomaly

Some physicists have come to believe that the universe has two surprising characteristics. The first is that it is holographic; the second is that it is objective.

While studying the human brain and how it stores information, cognitive scientists have come to realize that information is stored in a nonlocalized manner. Apparently, a memory of a particular event or idea is never stored in just one place like it is done in ordinary computer memory. Rather, the information is spread out over several parts of the brain. The only existing process that is similar to this is the way that holographic film stores information. Apparently, also, the human brain processes information in a manner similar to how a holograph produces images. Interference of signals from several sources seems to create the effect of thinking and recalling.

This idea has been extended to the entire universe. It appears that information about a particular object or property is not stored in one particular place, but is stored in the universe as a whole. No one quite understands how this works, but evidence is accumulating that the universe is actually constructed in this manner.

There is also a theory that the universe is “objective”. What this means is that the universe as a whole has a certain objective or destiny that it is attempting to fulfill. In other words, the universe seems to be determined to arrive at a certain state at a certain time in the future.

The problem with the idea that the universe is objective is that this requires some sort of feedback loop so that the universe can evolve in a manner that will eventually lead it to a certain state.

I propose the existence of chronotons that are capable of moving back in time. The existence of these particles has been proposed in science fiction stories and shows, but I am suggesting that these particles may be real. Chronotons are not unlike any other particle known to physics. That is, they are not more intelligent or more dynamic. They are simply capable of moving back through time.

The universe, through the course of its evolution, may be likened to a cord that is strung between two poles:

Image

The first pole represents the universe’s beginning and the second represents its hypothetical objective. When the end of the string is out of alignment with its objective, the displacement causes an increased number of chronotons to be projected into the past:

Image

When the chronotons are displaced into the past, their mass and energy cause minute changes in the outcome of events in the universe. These minute changes result in significant changes in how the universe actually evolves. This phenomenon is often referred to as the “butterfly effect”. The changes take place close to the end of the string, but this causes the displacement to move further into the past. This motion of the displacement can be likened to a wave pulse.

Image

As these wave pulses move back through time, they create a wave function that is not unlike the wave function that can be seen in an ordinary cord that is being shaken at one end:

 Image

Eddie McCleister was a mathematician working on a variation of Kurt Gödel’s principle of undecidablility. This is a theory that would inevitably be developed late in the 21st century, but Eddie was destined to discover it in the last decades of the 20th century. For reasons too obscure to explain, this early discovery would cause irrevocable problems for the universe arriving at its intended destination.

As a result of Eddie’s discovery an unusual number of chronotons were projected to his time and location. This was not done for any personal or intellectual reason. It just happens that the natural process of chronoton projection resulted in a concentration of activity in that particular locale.

The wave function that accompanies the process of chronoton projection caused a large node at a strategic time and place of Eddie’s existence. This node may be likened to a rogue wave that occurs on the ocean and swamps hapless beach goers:

Image

This node caused Eddie’s brain to expand momentarily to encompass the entire room he was occupying at the time.

Image

Since a person’s brain is holographic and since the objects in a room are holographic, this momentary expansion caused the holographic patterns in Eddie’s brain to be superimposed on the surrounding objects. The objects retained their original form; but since objects such as scissors, pens, watches, cards, etc, were represented in Eddie’s brain as abstract ideas, the physical form of the objects was replaced by the “idea” of the objects. Since ideas are eternal and immutable, the objects became eternal and immutable.

Also, the objects were imprinted with holographic patterns matching those in Eddie’s brain. Since the idea of rotation was stored in Eddie’s brain in a region that overlapped his idea of scissors, the scissors took on the property of rotating things. Since the idea of entropy was stored in Eddie’s brain in the same region as the idea of a watch box, the watch box took on the property of dampening entropy.

When the objects are actually used, they are behaving like holographic film. They take in information from their surrounding environment, such as light coming from people’s eyes and the posture of their bodies, and “translate” it into action that conforms to the patterns instilled in them. The mistake is often made of assuming that objects like the scissors are able to somehow read the minds of their operators. This is not the case. Actually, they behave more like a Segway scooter that senses subtle changes in weight. The holographic transformation that takes place in the scissors is more dynamic than what takes place in a Segway, but the essential idea is the same.

The most remarkable thing that happened when Eddie’s brain expanded to fill the room was what happened to the room itself. Eddie had just come back to the room from a hard day of trying to convince colleagues at a local conference of his discovery. In his mind, the room had become a sanctuary separate from the rest of the world. At the time of the expansion (the event) he was looking out the window thinking about how the world outside seemed to be a different universe. That is why the room was seemingly snapped out of reality.

However, Eddie had other ideas about the room that were instilled into it. He had noticed that every time he left the room and returned, it was restored to the way it had been when he first got there. This, of course, was the result of ordinary motel service provided by the proprietors, but Eddie was unaccustomed to staying in motels and the effect was startling to him. He also noticed how the towels he left on the floor and garbage he left lying around seemed to magically disappear. It was as if he returned at the end of each day to a brand new hotel room. This is why the hotel room resets and why everything that doesn’t belong there disappears. It is also why there is more than one room.

Because of the nonlocality of the way information was stored in Eddie’s brain, every object received the imprint of parts of ideas other than the imprints that were dominant. Therefore, when certain objects, such as the watch and the knife, are brought together, they display properties that go beyond their individual properties. This is merely a side-effect of the holographic process.

Eddie, himself, became the “idea” of a man. He was as eternal and immutable as the rest of the objects in the room.

While the node that occurred in Eddie’s locale eliminated the problem to the continuity of the universe, the existence of the objects with their peculiar properties created new problems. However, the chronotonic projection process remained in place. Chronotons are regularly dispatched to the locations of particular objects resulting in events and circumstances that keep them from becoming overly visible. It is for this reason that they are not extremely well known and seem to cause hardship for their users.

...amazing concept! I, for one, believe in the possibility of traveling forward in time, but not backward. It is too hard for me to explain why. The idea of the Universe ojectively trying to fullfill some destiny or purpose is interesting, almost as if it is some giant organism!

That impression is actually the source of the concept. Here is a popular book that proposes a similar idea:

Biocosm

To my knowledge, no serious physicist has ever argued for a model as outlandish as my own.

My jury is still out on time travel. It seems more plausible that small particles might travel back through time than whole structures, but even that implies a very unsettling concept of time.

Here is an addendum to my theory:

During the expansion of his brain/mind into the surrounding room, every idea that Eddie ever had about the function of a door key was embedded in the motel room key. This is why it “opens every door”.

Since Eddie was a mathematician, the concept of infinity (and thus eternity) was very real to him. Since he was human, the concept of a larger universe (heaven if you will) was very tangible to him. His knowledge of infinity, eternity, and a larger universe were distributed through the parts of his mind that enveloped the watch box, the ashtray, and the other objects in the Conroy experiment.

When the key is used with the Conroy objects, it must open a door to eternity. For the actual universe, the most economical solution to the problem of accommodating this construct is to have it open a door to the actual larger universe beyond our usual perception. Hence, the Conroy experiment really does open a door into eternity.

Whoa! I just read this theory and dang that is mindexpanding!! hehhe

Only one question: do you think the universe sent the chronotons back in time JUST to bother Eddie, or was he merely caught in the crosswaves?

Actually, the process is darwinian. When the timeline (represented by the string) gets out of alignment, the “kink” in the timeline causes chronotons to be sent back at random. If they land at a location that causes the timeline to come back into alignment, then no more are sent back. If they fail to correct the kink, the kink itself causes more to be sent back. This keeps happening until the kink is straitened out.

Eddie’s actions caused a kink to form that resulted in other kinks being formed that resulted in still other kinks being formed until the whole timeline was out of alignment. However, chronotons kept being sent back until all the kinks got straitened out. As it turned out, the only thing that would ultimately straiten them all out was for a massive amount to land squarely on Eddie. When you look at this from our perspective, it is as if the chronotons were ganging up on Eddie. If you could look at it from a position outside of time, it would seem like it took an enormous number of random trials before the result was exactly as we see it.

"I, for one, believe in the possibility of traveling forward in time, but not backward."

I think the opposite. To me going to something that has already happened seems more possible than going to something that has yet to happen. It's like going to a library full of books that have yet to be written. I'm aware I'm mostly alone in this proposition the last time I checked.

"almost as if it is some giant organism!"

Or, there's a supreme being, or we are all in a giant Truman show with perhaps puppet masters from "somewhere else."

I remain convinced that I am actually an extravagant sex toy commissioned for the Goddess of Erotic Energy. My assumption is that when the universe has run its natural course (probably in 2012) she will start making extensive use of her order.

Ahh, a follower of the apocalyptic Mayan Calendar. By the way do you know if they figured in leep year?

Per your response, but of course your right Spiko, who really knows.

I actually expect the universe to run its course around 2030 with the Vinge Singularity. However it could occur as early as 2012. I couldn’t answer the question about leap year. My best guess is that the calendar is not based on day count but on periodic occurrences like the summer solstice.
