posticon All I can say is "WOW"!!!

...I have been a forum geek for years, and I have never seen a forum where the creators and actors of "movie" have been so kind, and willing to participate! I just read through the stickies. These people are wonderfull to their fans. I just want them to know I hope their careers flourish. I am sure they are gratefull that there is a "cult following" to their production...but their reaction and participation are uncommon!

I too am impressed by the participation of Chris, Laura, Paul, Steve, and now Kevin Pollack. Honestly, I can’t understand what we have done to deserve it. We have exploited their creation and turned it into a hobby. I have spent the last several months pursuing the flask, and finally found it on eBay. I spent the last week contemplating my strategy for obtaining it. Honestly, this is the most fun I have ever had. You can’t even imagine the heart pounding excitement as I watch an auction tick down on eBay wondering if I will win an object and for how much!

I have commented before that collecting the objects is like playing a giant game with the entire world as a game board. It is almost like a video game, but the players and the playing board are real. I can’t recall hearing of, reading about, or experiencing anything quite like it. The whole thing reminds me of an Indiana Jones or Laura Croft movie. It is sort of like a poor man’s version of international intrigue. It is also like the actualization of role playing games like Dungeons and Dragons. The writers and producers of The Lost Room wrote the bible that we follow and interpret, but it has become much more in our experience than it was ever meant to be. I am sure they never guessed their creation would be turned into a rule book for a giant scavenger hunt.

And yet, Chris and his compatriots feel that we are doing them a favor. I know this for a fact, though I could never explain the source of my understanding. That is one reason why I work so hard to turn what we are doing into advancement for the show.

Thank you again Chris, Laura, Paul, Kevin, Steve,…

The other thing I don’t understand is why we are still getting away with this. What I mean is that I can’t figure out why the people who sell the things we are looking for have no idea why we want them. We are walking away with what, to us, are priceless treasures for mere pennies. We aren’t even paying a fair market price for the things we are obtaining, much less what they are worth to us as object collectors. Four of the flasks have been found in the whole world by a group of people who have not missed a beat in locating them. Yet, they have cost us mere pennies. Four in the whole world! That just doesn’t make sense.

I hope I haven’t jinxed myself…knock on wood…I don’t have the flask in my hands yet. However, if I never get it, that will not change the reality of my observation. We are getting away with murder!
