What was Eddie actually carrying with him?
I thought it might give some insight as to what Eddie was doing when he was caught up in the event if we look at which of the Objects were his possessions and which were the Motel's property.
Using the Wikipedia Objects list as a base, here's what I've come up with.
The clothes on his back ???
Left and Right Shoes with Shoelaces
Socks
Pants
Shirt
Cufflinks
Tie
Overcoat
Eyeglasses
Glass Eye
Watch
(The list doesn't mention it but there should be a suit jacket in there as well as a belt or suspenders, t-shirt and underwear)
On his person or in his Suitcase:
Bus Ticket
Chewing Gum
Cigarettes
Clock
Comb
Deck of Cards
Deodorant
Flask
Foot Powder
Iron
Kleenex
Knife
Life Magazine
Liquor Bottle
Magnifying Glass
Nail Clippers
Nail File
Newspaper
Notepad
Pencil
Photograph
Polaroid
Quarter
Rabbit's Foot
Razor
Ruler
Scissors
Shoehorn
Shoe Polish
Shot Glass
Train Timetable
Toothbrush
Umbrella
Wallet
Watchbox
Sunshine Motel Property
Ashtray
Bar of Soap
Bible
Chairs (3)
Chest of Drawers
Coat Hanger
Desk
Drinking Glass
Ice Bucket
Key
Matchbook
Pen
Postcard
Radio
Lamps
So one thing we know is that he was extremely well groomed.

Re: What was Eddie actually carrying with him?
It would be a lot of stuff if it were in his pockets, but if he had a suitcase, that would make sense. And if so - the suitcase would probably be an object, too.

Re: What was Eddie actually carrying with him?
He only had a quarter on him? That's weird.
Rabbit's foot - usually on a keychain? Was there originally a set of keys with this at one time? Where do we hear about a rabbit's foot? I can't remember that.
Even if he didn't have a car with him (bus) would he have a set of keys with him, separately from the motel room key?
We presume he got to the motel by bus, and possibly was leaving by train (schedule)?
Would it be odd for a man to travel with a nail file?
What were the ruler and scissors for?

Re: What was Eddie actually carrying with him?
I'm not sure how much stock I'd put in the Wikipedia list. I don't remember any mention in the show to the ruler or the rabbit's foot.
I also wondered about the money issue. The Sood's inventory did show a wallet. The wallet could be a key item that someone (maybe one of the collectors) found with Eddie's ID and tucked it away to conceal his identity.
There's also a question in my mind if Ruber's hallucination can be deemed as entirely accurate. What he saw could have been a representation of what would happen if he became the occupant and therefore not necessarily what the actual room looked like in 1961, or it could have been a delerious hallucination built around his memory of the room and the objects inside with gaps filled in by his imagination.

Re: What was Eddie actually carrying with him?
I wondered that about Ruber's hallucination, too, which means lots of stuff might be ruled out as inconclusive, like the life magazine. Do we see that anywher else?
It seems like what you could confirm - the stuff in the inventory, the stuff in the vault, the stuff from the conroy experiment, Kreutzfeld vault, stuff we see working...
I went back through and looked pretty carefully at what you can see in the polaroid - you see the TV, and a swipe across the chest of drawers, showing the radio, the key, the glasses, then part of the bathroom, and you do see into the little room on the right next to the bathroom - the closet? You see the suitcase on the stand.
Then a pass across the bed and the nightstand on the right side of the bed - the lamp, the clock, the wallet (?) and the pencil are there.
Then in the next pass, you see the occupant - first his hands and waist, then from the feet up...

Re: What was Eddie actually carrying with him?
I think adding to the object list a column of where we see the item in the mini-series would be a good idea.

Re: What was Eddie actually carrying with him?
I added a column to wikipedia list, identifying where the objects were first seen in the series, but I need to watch it again to determine some of them.

Yes in the Sood's inventory so it's definitly valid.

Plus the stuff from the Legion's list.
Nice job on the Wikipedia entry!
