God, I hope some more episodes get made somehow. There are just too many questions that need addressing. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Spikosauropod)Sun, 16 Dec 2007 15:15:39 +0000 Re: A thought about the flaskhttps://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p2757,from=rss#post2757https://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p2757,from=rss#post2757A brief note on the cards: they seem to provoke multiple reactions and visualizations. Because they have an effect which is so complex, I wouldn't rule out the possibility that if one unwrapped the cards inside the room, that outside the room they might have various constituent effects (one would cause nausea, another panic, another dreams, and so forth). Which would make for one hell of a game of poker, if the dealer were to "hit" you with the wrong card! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Syncretic)Sun, 16 Dec 2007 14:44:03 +0000 Re: A thought about the flaskhttps://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p2755,from=rss#post2755https://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p2755,from=rss#post2755I suspect that the water in the room, like the power in the electrical outlets/fixtures and the light coming in the windows from the nonexistent "sun" outside room 10, is not a separate Object but a continuously renewing self-maintaining aspect of the room, like the walls. The gravity inside the room doesn't need to come from anywhere, there doesn't need to be any "ground" to hold Room 10 up, and the water comes from, in essence, nowhere. This is a fundamentally different order of being from the Objects. They are destructible and mortal inside the room, but the electricity and light and water cannot "run out". This is a powerful but also very passive aspect of the room. I would guess that a humanitarian Key holder could generate a new constant supply of fresh water from the Sink. I know this would violate Conservation of Matter, but a higher or Other natural law appears to supercede Newtonian physics in this case.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Syncretic)Sun, 16 Dec 2007 14:39:42 +0000 Re: A thought about the flaskhttps://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p2716,from=rss#post2716https://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p2716,from=rss#post2716Yes, it’s really too bad that we can’t enter a universe where these things are real. I can think of a thousand experiments I would like to try. Suppose, for example, that you took the shot glass into the room and filled it with water and then reset the room. When you looked in again, would the shot glass be full or empty? If it remains full, does that prove the water is an object? If it is an object, what happens if you boil it, or freeze it, or try to separate it with hydrolysis? Is the sink an endless fountain of “object water”? I can see a whole episode being made around an inquisitive person getting hold of the key and attempting these experiments. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Spikosauropod)Tue, 11 Dec 2007 03:00:31 +0000 Re: A thought about the flaskhttps://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p2714,from=rss#post2714https://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p2714,from=rss#post2714Same with the shoe polish or the foot powder. If you could open it and pour it out, would each drop be an object. I say no. You can't open the shoe polish and since you can open the flask it must've been empty at the time of the event. I can't say why, just a gut feeling. Along those same lines I wondered what would happen if you separated the cap from the flask then lost it. Obviously the person it was being aimed at would suffocate but then what? Same with the deck of cards. Are they sealed so you can't open them? If you could, what would happen if you took all the cards and separated them?nondisclosed_email@example.com (paulv70)Mon, 10 Dec 2007 21:57:43 +0000 A thought about the flaskhttps://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p2713,from=rss#post2713https://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p2713,from=rss#post2713Hey folks,         Back again with another out of the box idea. If there was whiskey in the flask at the point of the event and they both become objects, are they themselves object seperately? Can the be seperated? Can you actually pour the whiskey out? If you drank the whiskey would it lose it's object ability if you didn't have the flask? What would happen if you filled the flask with water from the 'Room"? Happy to fire off a few new sparks in our brains. I haven't given these much thought yet but this one may need our entire cabal to get some ideas out of this one.nondisclosed_email@example.com (toddcross)Mon, 10 Dec 2007 18:09:19 +0000
