Re: TIN MAN

Tonight’s SciFi Channel extravaganza was Living Hell. This was basically a remake of The Andromeda Strain minus the originality and intelligence. I registered on IMDB just so that I could be the first one to give it a bad rating. I gave it 2 stars. I am guessing it will average about 4 stars. The SciFi Channel has it scheduled again for Thursday 2/28/08 at 9:00 PM.

I didn't even try and watch Living Hell. Saturday night is strictly for Torchwood shown on BBC America. And to try and watch it on Thursday nights is out, that my Smallville and Supernatural night. I tend to miss a lot of Scifi channels Saturday night movie. Althought I think I am saving myself from watching a lot of stinkers.

WOOHOO Torchwood is right. HBO is beginning to suffer from the same illness currently plauging MTV and the Scifi channel. Lack of shows. It used to be that Saturday night was the night for movies. Now it's just for boxing. HBO used to get some really good movies. Now they play the same old stuff we've seen over and over again. Alot of the movie chaneels are heading down this road. There are so many independant movies out there that deserve a look. But they never seem to make it to the movie channels. Oh, you might see one or two in a year but that might even be pushing it.

I can’t believe it. Living Hell has a rating of 8.2. It only had 6 votes at the time of this post. I gave it a rating of 2. This means the other 5 people gave it an average rating of 9.44. That’s probably a result of the same sort of sock-puppetry the SciFi Channel uses on their forum.

Of course, they can’t keep it up. After a hundred or so people have cast their votes, it will begin to converge to an appropriate rating.

Was there even any known stars in Living Hell. Usually that's the only way Scifi channel's movie catch my eye. If there is someone in it I recognize.

No stars. I recognize Dylan Kenin from The Lost Room.

Here is the cast.

There is no way that the only other five people to go to IMDB and rate “Living Hell” decided that it was a 9.4. This could result, for example, from three deciding it was a 9 and two deciding it was a 10. No way!

I forgot that IMDB breaks it down by votes. Four of six people gave it a 10. One person gave it a 6. I gave it a 2. The SciFi channel must have had their usual crew go right over and give it four 10’s. They will probably use up the rest of their sock puppet votes as they track the growing feedback.

The Scifi channel might be using the absentee voting system much like our government and unions. Anyone that doesn't vote they give it the highest possible vote in order to make it a so called winner vote.

Now Living Hell has 92 votes and its rating has gone down to 4.7—just as I suspected!
