I have given this some thought. For example, when one returns to Gallup using the bus ticket, perhaps the comb or the box can be used to effect a softer landing.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Spikosauropod)Sun, 16 Dec 2007 15:23:12 +0000 Re: My Event Theoryhttps://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p2761,from=rss#post2761https://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p2761,from=rss#post2761Is there an Intelligent Design aspect to this theory? In other words, does the existence of the Occupant/Caretaker presume the existence of a Caretaker Chooser? I don't see anything we have been presented with that suggests the Happy Ending element. With current information, we simply can't conclude there is some way for Joe to unload his burden, no matter how much we wish the best for him or wish that there was a Reason for the event. In the series, we know that most do not believe in an Occupant. But surely among those that do, it has been discussed that he has a charge, job, or mission. We have absolute proof of the existence of the occupant. Your theory suggests there were others before him, possibly other previous sets of Objects (or tools, if you prefer), and some other framing device other than the Room, which were all valid before 5/4/61. This also would mean there is a proper way to use the Objects, and each has a purpose.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Syncretic)Sun, 16 Dec 2007 15:09:40 +0000 Re: My Event Theoryhttps://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p2589,from=rss#post2589https://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p2589,from=rss#post2589Hey I like your theory ! It's plausible and well thought. So now, Jo can be the Caretaker of Reality and when is time done, return in his life, in the time he was chosen. There is idea, there!nondisclosed_email@example.com (Azemaria Jones)Wed, 21 Nov 2007 14:25:50 +0000 Re: My Event Theoryhttps://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p2574,from=rss#post2574https://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p2574,from=rss#post2574Oh I know Spike....but theories can go on ad infinitum.....I have been thinking about this for a long time......if any info pops up to possibly challenge my theory then I will either modify my theory or come up with a new one. To me anyway this seems the most plausible reason behind The Event. However others may think on a totally different tangent. What I don’t understand is the need for closure. Why make a conscious decision to not come up with any more theories or upgrades to this one? Chuckles, you don’t get to finish. We have to do this forever! Didn’t anyone tell you that? nondisclosed_email@example.com (Spikosauropod)Mon, 19 Nov 2007 22:08:25 +0000 My Event Theoryhttps://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p2567,from=rss#post2567https://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p2567,from=rss#post2567Ok...after many months of thought...Here is My Theory of The Event, Why it happened, Why it was Eddie and the lingering effects. The Event...first off there was an Event and it's still going on for it was not an accident of reality nor was it some experiment going out of control and it for sure was not God dying. The Event was / or is.......Eddie being chosen to be the Caretaker of Reality. He was chosen not by being alone but just at random and provided the tools to carry out this job using the items (Objects) he had with him at his disposal and providing him a safe refuge (Room10) not bound by Time and Space which he can use to access the infinate Realities he would need in his job as Caretaker. Now all others chosen for this job are instructed and told about the chosing and given instructions on how to best accomplish their new task and the chosen are informed that their tenure as Caretaker is only a temporary position and they will be returned to the time they were chosen to go back to a normal life with no memory of their participation. They are also told that "The Conservation of Objects" is a resource for Caretakers so if they accidently or somehow inadvertently destroy an Object in the room, they get it back in some other form so they do not lose a needed tool for the job. The only "catch" to the chosing is that they cannot refuse at all for any reason. The chosen are now Caretakers - like it or not. But something went wrong with Eddie's chosing. Somehow he subconsiously rejected the position before he even knew of his chosing (maybe his mind just could not handle it) and by revolting against it he lost control of his tools (The Objects), lost his chance at knowing what was going on meanwhile The Objects were becoming lost or taken. Now Eddie is stuck with no clue as to what the hell happened and more importantly what to do. What is even worse is that now everyone he knew no longer remembers him for in his job as Caretaker he MUST be removed from all realities to do his job without reservation. So now he sits immortal, invulnerable with amazing Objects in which to mold, shape and repair reality and he does not know it. Which brings us to The Conroy Experiment for now uneducated mortals (and fools) are playing with the Objects, interpeting them with their own reasoning as parts of God or as physics gone wrong. Arlene Conroy in her own mind came up with nailing The Objects to the door of Room 9 as a possible repair of reality or the opening of a door to a new one but her folly was first ignorance to the powers of the Objects and secondly arrogance to think she could control the forces unleashed. Maybe on some other door very removed from the motel she might have accomplished her wish but she was too close to where Room 10 was removed from reality when Eddie was chosen and she literally ripped a hole in all reality and got sucked in and all of reality would have been sucked in to but Eddie repaired the rip, losing Arlene in the process. So now the Objects are scattered, some possibly lost forever and Eddie who over time as more Objects become lost to him starts to lose it and checks himself into a sanitarium and considers himself lost to the world and gives up. And until the chosen time for a new Caretaker arrives (which could be many, many years) reality is in grave danger with no one to manage it, hence the feeling both Wally and Joe had that "something is wrong with the universe" and that feeling will remain until the new chosing for reality is damaged by non-Caretakers using The Objects they had no business using at all which explains "there is always a price for using The Objects". The price you pay is your punishment for using what is not yours to use. Here ends my theory.   nondisclosed_email@example.com (Chucklbunny)Mon, 19 Nov 2007 20:18:17 +0000
