Information about THE KEY

Lock Museum of America:
You can use Curtis EA 7 or
  1013 BR old ilco
  5149 was the Eagle #

Further the Museum Man said most likely the eagle key was for a padlock. I ask if he had any Niessen he said he would check on Monday.

I do not know how helpful this is. Maybe when enough fact pile up out pops the object.

I have found a 610 Niessen
and some biographic information
A possible lead on a lock smith
who had Neissen keys in the past.

Here is the kicker on the keys: they were hand made.

Re: Information about THE KEY

These came in today. I grab any Niessen I can find
I figure I may need them for trading stock and I
have become attached to this tiny company.

It's also possible that the keys in my hand are the same
keys in the photo 50 years later

Re: Information about THE KEY

I have a collection of Niessen keys from doing the same thing.

If you type "Niessen key" into ebay search, it doesn't usually come up with anything. But then if you click "include description" off to the top right, it will show some collections with Niessen keys.

You're marvelous at finding stuff, so this is probably old news. emoticon

I believe this is the Eagle model that the 600 Niessen blanks are made for.

Don't have the years of production yet

Re: Information about THE KEY

This key is a sister key to the Niessen 611

note the pin cuts are on the left which
witch might be why the bow was cut off
in the first place, wrong direction for
the production. A thought until the art
director tell us why they cut in half.

The key was cut in half to accommodate each new door the key was inserted into on set. The key was cut off and a new bottom was reattached or braised for each new door/lock. Straight from the Art Department!! emoticon

Finally an answer to the age old mystery. Just when I think we can't learn anything new, some genuine revelation comes along. And that makes so much sense!

Thanks Jess!
