Re: Annual trip?
I'm in San Diego. So I'm a little bit further away than Dallas.

Re: Annual trip?
I move that we have "Event Day" every year on May 4 in Gallup New Mexico.
It is as centrally located as possible for our group, and it is the location of the most important event: The Event.

Re: Annual trip?
I heard the Motel has been torn down. The old rickety house outside "Gallup" -- the spot where the Bus Ticket sends you -- was a real old house and is still there, but it's actually outside of Albuquerque. So you could get a picture of yourself in that spot, holding the Bus Ticket, as if you just zapped yourself there...
By the way, the entire miniseries was shot around Albuquerque & Santa Fe. I ended up liking the area quite a lot, so it's cool for a visit in its own right.

Re: Annual trip?
Unfortunately we didn't get to shoot in Pittsburgh -- we faked Albuquerque for Pittsburgh if you can believe that.
If you visited Hunt Library at Carnegie Mellon University you could see the historic spot where Paul Workman first told me his idea about a superpower where you could teleport into a hotel room. Someday there will be a plaque to that effect, no doubt.

Re: Annual trip?
Alright then, we can go to Albuquerque and pretend it’s the whole world. We could even make a road trip out to Gallup and Santa Fe. May 4 will give us all a lot of time to budget and plan.
I just Google-Earthed it. The road trip from Albuquerque to Gallup is 140 mi and 2.5 hours. We’d all get to know each other really well in a big bus going through the desert. A really Lost experience.

Re: Annual trip?
Yep, the distance between Albuquerque and Gallup is pretty short. And gorgeous, BTW. You're basically following old Route 66.
You could definitely stay in either place. Gallup has some really cool old motels reminiscent of the Sunshine Motel. They have an AWESOME vintage hotel called El Rancho that movie stars used to stay in while shooting westerns.
Unfortunately, I'll be on my honeymoon next year around that time, so I wouldn't be able to make to a May 4th gathering.
