Side thought subject (Twilight Zone Parallel story)
Alrighty people, this is something I have thought of from time to time. I seem to remember an old black and white episode of The Twilight Zone or it might have been The Outer Limits, but it was along those lines. Anyway, the episode was about some old guy that had to collect everyday item, or objects, to build this machine that apparently kept the universe together.
Now I could be wrong and there is no episode and this is all in my head. Which is strangly frightening and comforting at the same time.
The point being, yes I've managed to swing this incredible bulk of a post around, it just seems similair to The Lost Room. Has anyone seen or even heard of an episode like that?

Yes, I definitely have. I believe it was an old episode and then was remade into a new one. It definitely exists. I will try to find it.

The episode you are refering to came from the second incarnation of The Twilighs Zone. It was called The Curious Case of Edgar Witherspoon.

Sweet! Someone did see it! I keep thinking there was a black and white version but who knows. Very few ideas are left in Hollywood. We just get the remakes instead of seeing some new ideas.

I also thought there was an earlier version, but I now doubt that. The sites that describe these things nearly always include that kind of information and not one of them suggests an earlier version.

So, perhaps what Eddie was doing as he was running around on trains and busses was gathering together the objects. Maybe he was on a scavenger hunt himself. That certainly opens the door to a wide range of unexplored possibilities.
Should we move this string to the “The Order” section?
