Object Entities List & Object Count

We have been debating about where goes the line between individual Objects, some take the line being 'removable by hand'.

Now I wish to make a list of entities, that consist on apparently separate objects, but are tied in together, with strong bond.

Like this:

Cigarettes & Pack of Cigarettes = Level 10 bond, you can not get your hands on the cigarettes, unless you destroy the pack

Television and chain = level 8 bond, a screwdriver is needed, maybe risk of destroying the Object

Shower Curtain & Shower curtain hoops & curtain rod = level 5 bond, curtain can be removed easily, but to remove the hoops, you need to remove the rod first

Drinking Glass & Drinking Class Cover = level 0 bond, no tools required

Suggestions for multiple Object Entities are now taken.

Please list as many entities on your post at once, it does not matter if the item is already mentioned in someone elses post, I just want to hear what you guys imagine being an Entity.

You can igore the bond levels, I will figure those out after I have good list of entities.

I suggest all Objects attached to each other are an 'entity'.

Being an entity does not mean they are not separate Objects, just that they belong together.

Flask & Cap

Soap Case top & Soap case bottom

Toothbrush container & cap

Transistor radio & earplug

Shoe & shoelace

Curtain Rod & Curtain hoops/clasps

what else?

Re: Possible Object Entities Chukle

Christopher Leone has said that all caps etc. are separate Objects.

For practical reasons I am going for listing items by their 'parent' Object, but marking on the sidenote all of the 'child' Objects that go with it, however counting them all as single Objects, too.

From my next Object count, there will be two numbers: the amount of individual Objects (iO) and the amont of Object entities (Oe) aka child Objects counted as one with their parent.

Going also with the
Wikipedia entry for definition of Object Body

and distinction between fluids and solids Fluid Mechanics

fluid = unit of liquid, gas or powder particles

Cattrina's Law of Fluid Objects: "a fluid Object can never exist without a container"

Example: Aftershave = Aftershave Bottle, Aftershave Bottle Contents, Aftershave Bottle Cap

iO= 2 solid Objects + 1 fluid Object (or 2sO+1fO)
Oe = 1 Object Entity

I am going also with 'natural' selection when picking Entities, defining whether a thing is a parent or a child Oject by what items are naturally associated as one.
And what items are conjoined as one by screws, glue etc. 'permanet' manner.

So a Television is a parent, but an Antenna would be a child... Television would not work without the Antenna. Same goes with the Chain attached to the TV, it is Conjoined Object and therefore a child to the TV.

But the Shelf the Television resides is in not way needing the Television to work as a shelf, so it is a single Object.

Same goes with the Lightbulbs, although they would work without the Lamp (if a substitute lamp given) I´d still would consider them child to the Lamp.

The Flask is the parent, the Cap the child
The Transistor Radio the parent, Earplug the child

The Chest of Drawers would not be a chest of drawers without the drawers nor the drawers drawers without the chest. But it would be Chest of Drawers, the parent and drawers & knobs as children.

and so forth an Object becoming a child when it needs another thing to be attached to in order to operate.

Well, this complicates the matter a great deal, and, as you know, I am very fond of complication. Before long, object speculation will be right up there with determining how many angels can stand on the head of a pin.

Great work Cat!

If no objections from the cabal members, I will make this list 'official' adding it to my Objects listing on my catalogue

Object Hierachy PDF

individual Objects 306 Object entities 173 Child Objects 133 (123 solid Objects + 10 fluid Objects) I did not take into account the fluid inside the lighter, nor cigarettes and individual playing cards, as imho they are now fixed parts of the parent. Also in this list all unlikely items are removed. (second comb, ironing board, almanac, playing card case)
