I solved it with some kind of brute force trigonometry, but I got 150°.

angle DGE = 60 (equilateral triangle)
or
angle DGB = 30 (hypotenuse of 1 height of ½)
from there
triangle DGB & EGB are isosceles ...

He walks South 42.4 feet and the subtended angle is 30 degrees.
How tall is the tower?
(The subtended angle is from the ground to the top of the tower)
