Re: The Press Kit
umm...yes. Not a rule. Just in that case, we could have mentioned that this item normally goes for more than $30, so if that was Fenrir's max bid, some pre-arrangement might be in order.
In truth, I was watching the bidding as well, and was prepared to bid if it went over $30. And apologize later if I stepped on Fenrir's bid. It didn't go over $30, so I assumed he won.

Re: The Press Kit
Continuing off of agreeing about the model I gave with the explanation that the highest bids are secret;
That doesn't seem entirely correct in my personal experience. I have seen bids jump over $50 in a single step long before the end of the bid, and even in the bid I had just lost, the bid jumped about $10 before the bid actually ended.

Re: The Press Kit
All max bids are resolved instantly.
As soon as one max bid tops another max bid, then you know what the lowest max bid is because the price will be .49 higher than the lowest max bid.
Individual bidding is irrelevant. The rule is simply : "The highest Max bid wins."
I could have won the auction by simply bidding $200 in the first second of the auction. No one other than a Collector would bid more than $200 so I would have won.

Re: The Press Kit
I'm not sure if your comment was agreeing with my comment which provided what was meant as a counter example to previous comments, or if it was a semi counter to mine explaining that it must have been Someone bidding a very large amount and then someone else bidding an even larger amount.
I am sorry to be such a bother but I feel it important that I understand ebay. I just find it very frustrating. They seem to have taken the route of Gamefreak with Pokemon. They wanted to make a randomized system, but instead of creating a randomizer with limits they created the EV and IV systems. Ebay instead of making a simple bidding system, made... I don't know what to call it, and the more we talk, the more convoluted it seems, though the only purpose I could see of it is just out of varying levels of hatred for people that sell things (depending on which part of this conversation we are at).

Re: The Press Kit
Yes, your x, y, z bid thingy is correct.
Because y had the highest bid, he doesn't have to do anything. Ebay (for y) outbids x and z for anything up to y's max bid.

Re: The Press Kit
Been wanting this for quite awhile. I would have paid $200 for it. This is just an item that will get scarcer the more time goes on. I am very very happy !!!!!!
