The Watch Box

The Watch Box

classification: paulesque

The Watch Box appears in The Comb and the Box. It is one of the objects on the lighted table in the Order of the Reunification temple. Later, Joe Miller and Jennifer Bloom use it in Room 9 of the Sunshine Motel to recover Arlene Conroy.

The Watch Box dampens entropy for a limited radius. The exact meaning of this is unclear. For a formal discussion of entropy, go to the Wikipedia entry. The Watch Box is also one of the seven objects used in the Conroy experiment to “open a tear in reality”.

The watch box is covered in black velvet with a brass band that goes around the front and sides, but not the back. The interior has a white upper and a black base. This style is referred to as “presidential”. This watch box is rather cheaply made and is difficult to reconcile with the Bulova watch that it supposedly housed. Bulova watch boxes are usually much more upscale.

In the scene that takes place in the Order of the Reunification shrine room, the watch box is shown from a second angle:

This gives the false impression that the brass band goes all the way around. Careful analysis of screen caps reveals that the watch box was turned around for each separate scene.

The only known source of The Watch Box is a private vendor in communication with dmv1066. These boxes become available when sufficient demand arises.

Re: The Watch Box

Has there become suficient demand yet?

IS there established dimensions?

i cam across a box with no trim, but i think i can actually make a trim using bras sheets from a hobby shop. i just need to find out if the dimensions of the box are the same as mine.

I have received several requests. I will reorder on the 25th and have more watch boxes about two weeks later.

I have been hesitant to order more of these because the ones I can get are obviously not a good match. They are the right size and correct colors, but they are the wrong shape. They don't have the domed top.

I still search daily for the domed watchboxes...no luck !!

which is strange...they are not expensive...nor are they really hard to make....I did see them on ebay WAY back but did not get one by the time we identified the domed box...and they were all gone when when we did.

man I want one !!
