As long as we are talking about other obsessions...
My main obsession (as tLR is a rather new one for me) is Harry Potter. And this has been a big month for Mr. Potter, and his write, JK Rowling.
It's also been a big month for me, as I am my PotterClub's coordinating officer. It's my job to make sure everyone has tickets for the same showing, rides to the bookstore, and food/drinks to satisfy hunger while reading the last book.
So, by way of an explanation... this is why I haven't been around a lot this last week. Movie coming out, book coming out (TOMORROW NIGHT) and such.
If anyone is interested in seeing them, I'll put up pictures from the movie premier and the book premier as soon as I have them webready.
I'm going as Parvati Patil, in her yule ball sari. My friend Adam is going as Harry Potter, in full school robes. My sister is going as Nymphadora "just-call-me-Tonks". My friend Jessica is going as Pansy Parkinson, in casual wear. My friend Caitlin is going as Hermione Granger, in school robes. My friend Angela is going as Luna Lovegood, in casual wear. And my friends Brittany and Matthew are going as the house elves Winky and Dobby. We also have assorted group members who will be dressing as wizards who are pretending to be muggles (and whose costumes will therefore be hilarious).
So, if you want pictures, let me know, and I'll try to have them up soonish.

Re: As long as we are talking about other obsessions...
My previous obession was (and still is for the most part) Stargate SG1 costuming. I mainly wear the standard grren/ black offworld costume to renaissance faires. (talk about genre mixing!!heheheheh) Interesting to me in that as the SG1 series was drawing to a close, The Lost Room gained more of my attention.
My overall obsession are mostly of non COA and fan made props. My collection currently is of:
Terminator skull and forearm
Broken Chip
Intact Chip
Cyberdyne Systems ID card
MIB neuralyzer
MIB Noisy Cricket
MIB glasses
Coffee drinking worm alien
Morpheus glasses
Agent Smith bug
Samsung cellphone
Map of Hamunaptra
COA scarab bug
Cenobite puzzle box
LeMarchand's papers for the puzzlebox
COA binocular/camera from Boune Supremacy
Incomplete Predator biohelmet
revised version of the sonice screwdriver
original version TARDIS key
LOTR Ring
ST -TOS 3D chessboard

Is your cube the hollow plastic? Produced early 90s? Had one panel that slid open? I stuffed a couple abandoned socks inside mine to give it some weight then glued the panel.

Re: As long as we are talking about other obsessions...
Some photos of me in my SGC costume:
My character is Omar Khale; Doctor of Renaissance History currently assigned to unit SG10.
At the Valhalla Renaissance Faire, Lake Tahoe, Ca.
examining the interior of an extint lava tube-photoshopped image
examining a column of a jungle temple-photshopped image
Local comic/anime con with my nephew (viewer right) and his best buddy.
I did not realize some of the photos would be so huge. My apologies. Delete this post if necessary

Re: As long as we are talking about other obsessions...
Great Googly Moogly!!! I do remember you Randy. Yes I think it was Baycon'03. Im still an Stargate fan even though SG1 has concluded. I still have a GDO on my wishlist. Other than the Lost Room, I have not been so focused for other props or costumes. There is so much out there for a collector to "overdose" on hahahahahahah
