Re: The Wall Painting

Working on frame. My framer is round trip of a 100 miles, so looks like end of month. The College of Art and Craft is an important school in the bay area. They have an archive and I need to get down and see if the Le Conte shows up in their attic.

Yup Wall print over the bed, sweet dreams.

Yep. That's where mine is. One of the few larger objects that I actually have room for.

Re: The Wall Painting

I just found this color enhanced photograph on eBay. By comparing several points in the image, I am able to determine that it was made at nearly the same time and from the same angle as the TLR painting, but from further out. One possibly cropped branch in our painting suggests that our painting may have been made at a later date:

I have no intention of buying it. If anyone else wants it, go ahead. I have made copies of all the images.

I analysed the image, ours is taken earlier, the trees have grown more in this one, I assume maybe 20 years difference. The angle is a bit different too and it is taken 'couple of steps back' as ours do not have the horizontal branch coming from right.

If we could get zoomed HD picture from the part our pic depicts, without the glass reflection, then it might be useful

But I am also very interested on the fact that this background data shows 'property of William Andersson' I wonder if he was the photographer?

Re: The Wall Painting

Inistore is a remarkable Victorian villa in a cherished address in Helensburgh’s Upper West End district. Built in stone under a slate roof, it is thought to date from the 1860s. Previous owners have included local Victorian lemonade producers, the Reids, and Nance Anderson, daughter of William Anderson and Annie Templeton of the Templeton Carpets family. Miss Anderson, who moved to Inistore, then known as Hilsrig, with her brother John after the death of their parents in 1928, renaming it Inistore after the family home in John Street. She was reputed to have been the first person in Helensburgh to install a gas central heating system. Miss Anderson was a great benefactor to the town, presenting it with the Templeton Library and bequeathing it her superb art collection. The present owners purchased Inistore from Miss Anderson’s estate in 1980
