Re: The Wall Painting

thanks *bows*

I meant a little fixing, the area around the gymnasium bothers me. But all in all I am really happy with the look as is, the hazyness of it belongs to the pic imho, like to keep it
as is.

So in that sense it´s not gonna change much, little fix on the shadowing around the gymnasium window and a few points where the edge of my paintbrush is too rough need a bit smoothing. All-in-all 15 minutes of work, as soon as I can get as much free time. Most likely tomorrow.

Yes, this amazes me too. Even this far after the show aired I came up with the idea of merging the post card and painting and with Cattrina's modifications we will now be able to make a brand new object that we didn't have before.

Long live the Collectors !!!!

Here is the version 6, yes, did not post versions 4 and 5... here is why:

After finishing the pic yesterday and beginning to post it today a bit earlier, I realized a major difference: there was another branch, crossing over the gymnasium. That was the why I felt the shadowing on the area looked wrong. So fixed that to the version 6.

Changes from version 3:

* Added a branch
* Made the memento stone stand out a bit more, so it matches the sharpenes of the Conte Oak.
* Fixed the shadowing around the Harmony Gymnasium round window
* Went through all the edges with soften and push tool, of all my layers, so the 'pieces of the puzzle' fuse better to the surrounding (I had 24 layers XD)
* Retouched -some more- with push tool, on some branches, especially the middle branch (below gymnasium) shaping it to be more curvy and added moss
* Inserted a bit more green, as I had sepia-toned gaps everywhere, I still think I did not get them all
* I filled some gaps around the picture outer eges, where I had white (this is because the image has been resized to fit better on the canvas)
* Made the branches on the left-tree to stand out better
* added shadows and lights on both trees
* etc etc...

you know, there is only one part of the picture I did not retouch, the road XD

Re: The Wall Painting

I had mine printed at Office Depot at 16x20 for $15 on photo paper. It came out kind of muted even compared to the photo they showed on the screen before printing.

The framing place wanted $130 to frame it, so I will be making my own frame. emoticon

Which version did you print? I am curious about the quality of my retouch showing harsher on the actual print-size.

Version 8. The clump of leaves just to the left of center really stands out. The rest of the photo has a definite soft focus but that bunch of leaves is sharp and high contrast compared to the rest. Not enough that I'll reprint. But noticeable.
