I think Chris mentioned once that there were plans for a shaving powder but it was never elaborated on.

How would he sharpen his razor, where are those extra objects? I wonder if he'd even use that razor at all considering by then the safety razor had been around since the 18th century. Also the electric dry razor since 1928. Where's his after shave? Is there any toothpaste?

I too have felt that the strait razor was a tad anachronistic. Still, my grandfather preferred a pocket watch to a wrist watch up to 1970. Why not a strait razor?

Someone once asked us, “How could one person carry so many objects?” As you have realized, a travelling gentleman would have far more than we have observed.

I'm starting to wonder if he was a salesman at all and more a cold war spy.

Re: New object?

remember not everything became an object
those things that were not indestructable
or did not show themselves to be objects in some way

which brings me to the thought how did the collectors
the first group know what to look for?
or even know to look for items?
we know what items because of seeing them
but how do you know to look for a dr scholls
bromidorosis tin if you don't know what was in the room?
they find the key, find the room and realize there must
be objects out there with strange powers?
I will finish this post when I get home

It's not as chicken and egg as it seems, they found the key back in '61, the room could have had most of it's contents still in situ. They had access to the room polaroid, they would have known what to search for outside what they already found. The coat was still in the room, almost everything else had been looted by successive key owners over time.

Re: New object?

if I remember correctly when joe was talking to
Gus, Gus mentioned that everything was
"pretty much gone." hence the formation of
the group the collectors.
I'll check the exact wording when I get home
but that is what I remember
