Knife Chuckle

This is something that has been stirring in the back of my head for a while. The Kamp King knife shown in the Soods inventory has the blade side away, the loop on the right, and the emblem facing upward:

Every Kamp King knife I have ever seen has the opposite orientation:

I can understand the radio being reversed so that the shot where it is being struck with the hammer fits into the larger scene. The reversed knife is a bit harder to account for. Any theories?

Re: Knife Chuckle

it's those prop guys again IMO.

The reversed knife is another attempt to disguise a recognized brand ( a royalty dodge I would bet )

We have seen so much the constant attempts by the prop guys to change and/or modify an Object that the only logical conclusion is "reverse shot"

BTW.......did anyone ever notice that when Joe and Lou enter Room 10 and turn on the TV only to see static.....the static was on the outside glass of the TV and it came on instantly......

if the TV was really working the static would have been on the inside glass and vintage tube TV's take 2-5 min to warm up and show a picture which would have taken WAY too long while filming. The static shown was added by special effects. they never really turned on the TV and my guess is that the show TV was a non-working model.

That seems reasonable, because the name has also been blotted out. Can you really avoid royalties with such an insignificant change? If that is true, then the Dr Scholl’s label we see must be completely bogus. The Shinola label would not have to be changed because Shinola is defunct. I think I see why the comb is an obscure modern brand rather than a vintage Ace. They thought it best to avoid that altogether.

As for the TV, I have no doubt the static was added later. Static probably doesn’t film well. The TV's working order may be moot.

We’re a bunch of non-film people trying to explain Hollywood emoticon

Also from the pic in The Sood's inventory it's not possible to see how many blades or tools are in the knife.
How many does any body's have?
Mine has four emoticon

I have two. They both have four tools.

I just did a quick eBay check. Every knife of this style appears to have four tools.

Re: Knife Chuckle

You are correct that the knife could plausibly be a different brand, but there seems to be a great deal of variation among Kamp King Knives. Here is my own photographed in as similar of conditions as I could manage this late at night.

My knife looks more like the screen cap than like the other knife.
