New to collecting
Well, I must say... not having cable at my house has severely restricted my TV viewing habits lately... but a few weeks ago my dad came across TLR via a role-playing website, and we've rented it from Netflix and I love it. I think I've decided I have to own it, soonish.
So, I wanted to get to know a little more about it, and I saw the link to this forum on the official SciFi message boards. Figured I'd check you all out.
My favorite object is the Bible, I think. I want to find out what it does.

Re: New to collecting
Hi Ginger. I too am enamored of the Bible. I really can’t imagine what it must do. I’m still hoping (in a sequel) that someone will pick it up and read it to discover that it has become the “Even Newer” Testament.
If you want to collect, start with the pen. Just go to eBay and punch in "lost room pen". Be sure to get the one Paul makes. It is the only screen accurate one. He usually throws in a bus ticket...which is a real bargain.

Ginger,
Welcome to our little Cabal. I'd be happy to give you a pen and a bus ticket to start off your collection. Just send me a message with your address and I'll send them out.

Re: New to collecting
Welcome to the group, Ginger. Just be prepared to spend a lot of time scouring the Net and the thrifts stores for the items to be object props.

Re: New to collecting
So I hear, Todd, so I hear.
Much thanks to Paul for supplying me with starting objects. Sadly I have no camera, and so no pictures of them.
The "Even Newer Testament" you say? Now that could be interesting. I wonder what it would consist of?

Re: New to collecting
I’m thinking that it would not be really obvious. Maybe as you are reading it, you would begin to notice that it differs slightly from the usual text (any translation). Then you would discover a couple of new books sandwiched in between Jude and Revelation. The books would describe the event, but with the imagery of the period and the language of the translation. An unobservant person (like Kreutzfeld) might never notice the change.
I’m not ready to venture what the books might actually say. The cool thing about it is that the bible would come from a world where those books had always been there and were taken completely for granted. In other words, it would be the “correct” version. I can’t yet imagine the implication of all this, but I am starting to form an outline. Maybe the books would describe an event that would change the world so that no one remembered how things were supposed to be. It would all be right there in the books, but of course no one would remember them any more.
Maybe Eddie realized what was about to happen and was investigating events leading up to the change. That could explain why he seemed to be carrying an Almanac around with him. Finally, he was standing in the window contemplating all that he had learned…then it happened.
