Bible

For anyone who thinks information about the bible I found may be helpful, I have provided links to the only information pages. The earlisest printing date is 1952, but there is no clear reference. There is, of course, no ISBN.

I just found this one on Ebay which looks pretty good to me.

]KJV Cambridge Red Letter Concord Bible Morocco Leather

It's described as a "Cambridge University Press King James Version Concord Bible"

Re: Bible

That looks right to me. All we really know about it is that it is approximately octavo with HOLY BIBLE all in caps written in the upper left-hand corner. There is actually a picture of the bible hanging on one of the bookshelves of the Sood’s office, but it is very difficult to make out. It gives an idea of what the spine of the bible should look like. Personally, I think that detail is just a bother.

I am confident that I have found another bible, so I will not be bidding against you on this one.

Re: Bible

As far as props go, that seems to be it. With a black felt pen, the bit of lighter color showing through would disappear. It's pre-roughed up appearance actually adds to the authenticity.

Some collector should definitely get that. I doubt anyone but a collector will bid on it.

Re: Bible

My Bible orginated from Australia. Its size is approx [sign in to see URL] and the pages are [sign in to see URL]. from The British and Foreign Bible Society, London. It has an inscripton dated 1959 from a grandmother to her grandson. It appears she had it for many years in great care and he continued to give it care and use. I mostly acquired it because the leather was in very decent condition and the 'Holy Bible' printing on the cover was in the general position.

I am still debating to UL photos for the simple reason my camera does not do well for anything closer than three feet. I suppose I should rig up one of those CSI measuring L grids to give the Bible some sense of relative size... emoticon

I also saw one on Ebay that could work if someone wanted to cut off the edges where it zippers closed.

Re: Bible

And you picked up the Collins bible way cheap. I said you would. It was ¼ what you would have paid for the Cambridge.
