I got a pair of black ones too. They just felt right. Perhaps we should all just agree they should be black.

yes, now my question is why don't we ask that prop guy who comes on the forums on occasion that question. also ask him about the key if it was welded together or not...

I bought silver ones.

However, even if I hadn’t, I would have to object to agreeing that they are black. We must behave like scientists and not make any assumptions based on our own preferences. Posterity is counting on us to be impartial witnesses. We mustn’t generate any myths.

But even consensus is dangerous. Facts must speak for themselves. We may even go so far as to say, “It is generally accepted that…” or “Most collectors assume that…” but we must never allow ourselves to canonize a convenient assumption. Facts…facts…facts…! If we can not establish the color of the binoculars…which I do not believe we can…then we must not arrive at a consensus.

Agreed. haha. This is why i Aid in these enhancements so we can scrutinize the facts and know the truth. And i agree that we can not tell right now. once question though is there only one particular brand of binoculars? or is that something we have to research as well.

It is these facts and those statements that i want in the catalogue so people know that we are not sure but can at least point them in the right direction.
