those theater glasses ? do we have a confirm from Chris ? are you sure that's what they are ? how can we tell make and style ?
I was just joking Chuckles.
I am sure they are folding opera glasses, but I doubt we will ever know the exact make and style. I got a pair so cheap that it hardly matters.

Re: Vault Items?
Here's what I asked Chris:
quote:
Hey Chris,
We just discovered that there are actually 12 items in the vault and we're trying to id the first one on the right, just before the shoe.
Can you confirm that it's a pair of folding binoculars?
Thanks and have fun tonight.
Paul
and here's his response:
quote:
I'm almost positive you're right. I can't believe you spotted that. There were definitely 12 items in the vault. Laura was on set that day so I'll see if she remembers for sure.

Boy....my statement of "having no objects to collect" has sure bitten me in the ass lately !! I welcome it and await more !

Re: Vault Items?
And i might be able to help you in that pursuit. But its hard to tell sometimes what things are when they are there for only 4 frames. i can only do so much to enhance 4 frames. But i will seee what i can turn up by going back and do a multi--frame composite enhancement. and see if i can turn anything up on the two unknown objects (later).

You never offend me Chuckles. I sort of have you figured out.

That is how these things go. There will be lulls, then incredible surges of discovery. It is good that we get new members because they force us to take a new look at old assumptions. If we can just keep this thing alive until a second US showing of TLR we should get a strong new wind.

Re: Vault Items?
They are showing it again? where is the info so i can spread it around and hopefully let them get the ratings they need to make another series.
Also i think it is funny that we are doing frame by frame enhancements to see all we can of this show. and even though we have done this quite a bit we still have not discovered everything haha.

Re: Vault Items?
The emphasis is on the word “IF”. I do not have any information that it is being shown again. I’m very sorry for misleading you. It’s a good thing I caught this before it spread like wildfire.
Your observation about how we keep squeezing information out of this is profound. I warned Chris that he would never again have critics like us. I suppose that you could do this sort of thing with any movie or series, but there would not be the same motivation. Because we are interested in both the objects and the event, every frame could contain something vital.
However, I must give credit to the creators. They made it worthwhile to do what we are doing. This is the most fun I have had in years.
Another thing: I will bet that if a sequel is made, our guys are a lot more careful. They know that we will be following them with our bloodhounds and magnifying glasses.
On the other hand, my sister predicts that they will be “messing with us”—planting things here and there that are deliberately intended to throw a curve to object collectors. Bring it on!

Re: Vault Items?
Thank god! I was beginning to think no one believed me, got very discouraged, and was over my Christmas vacation assembling (not very sophisticated) screen captures with all 12 cases.
I have looked at this with four players on my computer and about six TVs with various degrees of frame-forwarding, and had some thoughts.
The L1 item I was trying to decide if it was a case for the Glasses, or possibly a folded up Polaroid Camera, but after much searching I concluded that no model available in that year could be that compact in comparison to the shoe. I agree that those binoculars look really close!
The R5 object (between shoe polish and rabbit's foot) appears to be flat. There are a couple of frames where it appears the center of the object is shinier than its edges.
A paperweight? I think high tech would really be needed to make this anything more than a vague guess.
Also, there are some frames from the POV of the empty wooden box (still trying to figure out why that was in the vault) that I think show the L2 item has a curved, two-pronged grip. If we didn't already know it was with the Order, I would have guessed it was the nail clippers. But that's out. From the other end of the vault, there are a couple of frames that on first glance look like a reflection in the case, but on closer examination I think show that the handle-ends of the object have white or bright tips. I might think pliers or wire-cutters, but I would have no real context for that identification.

Re: Vault Items?
Yea those items are really hard to make out i will of course spend the time sometime to really look at it and use my anylisis tools to see if we can post some information on what they are but they are illuding us right now.
I will update my picture soon here and then try some enhancements.
