OK, now to your brass removal project. I want to know how that goes. Like I say, I would just try really fine sand paper and work on them for hours.

Does anyone else have any ideas?

Use “sanding film”, center item shown here:

It can only be purchased at hobby shops and craft stores. It has almost no grit at all. Try it in one small area for a while and see what happens. Remember, it could take hours to finally remove all the plating.
