My The Ninth Gate DVD is about to wear out. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Spikosauropod)Thu, 04 Oct 2007 18:16:07 +0000 Re: Movie reviewhttps://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1815,from=rss#post1815https://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1815,from=rss#post1815 Hi Collectors! I think i must introduce you two great spanish films made by our national pride film director-hero Alex de la Iglesia. These two films are "The Day Of the Beast" and "Accion Mutante"(Mutant Action). My english level is very pour so i will cut´n paste some critics. LOL "The Day Of the Beast" Angel Berriartua, a Catholic priest and professor of theology, has cracked the secret code of the Apocalypse prophecies – a numeric cipher that gives the date of the return of The Devil as Madrid on December 25th, 1995. He still needs to find exactly where, so he sets out into the streets, conducting acts of evil, reasoning that this is the best way to find The Devil. Gathering an ex-seminarian turned heavy metalhead and a tv psychic to his cause, he decides it is necessary to conduct a Satanic ceremony to summon the Devil. A very funny movie. "Acción Mutante" (Mutant Action) In a future world ruled by good-looking people, a terrorist group of mutants leaded by Ramon Yarritu kidnap the daughter of Orujo, a rich businessman, to claim for the rights of the ugly people. Escaping from the police in their spaceship, Ramon try to kill his gang in order to get all the ransom. The trip ends abruptly when they crash in Axturiax, the planet of the crazy miners where no woman lives. this film is highly recomended, its one of the craziest spanish films ever made!!!            I dont know if they are in emule but they are in ebay, enjoy Spanish bizarre!!!nondisclosed_email@example.com (Camel HooF)Thu, 04 Oct 2007 09:20:40 +0000 Re: Movie reviewhttps://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1523,from=rss#post1523https://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1523,from=rss#post1523Bubba Nosferatu??? He's a good comedy actor but he can be one fierce dramatic actor as well.nondisclosed_email@example.com (toddcross)Sat, 22 Sep 2007 14:46:41 +0000 Re: Movie reviewhttps://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1497,from=rss#post1497https://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1497,from=rss#post1497Ooh, The Game is good!nondisclosed_email@example.com (paulv70)Sat, 22 Sep 2007 14:08:13 +0000 Re: Movie reviewhttps://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1496,from=rss#post1496https://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1496,from=rss#post1496Another movie thats is one of my favs is "The Game" w/ Michael Douglas. That one kept you guessing. Johnny Depp was good in it, but my all time favorite Depp movie is Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. i won't go into detail but that is a movie you have to be in a certain state of mind and I got there a few times. Gives me something to think over. What other movie was good and explained very little? The Wraith. For a low budget movie this was the chit.nondisclosed_email@example.com (toddcross)Thu, 20 Sep 2007 19:20:24 +0000 Re: Movie reviewhttps://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1478,from=rss#post1478https://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1478,from=rss#post1478The first Highlander with Christopher Lambert was OK. I had a better idea for the ending. Everything after that was... They keep trying to explain the scenario. It is rather like the way we are attempting to explain the event. To give a satisfying explanation for something like that requires a tremendous imagination and insight. Very few people are up to it. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Spikosauropod)Thu, 20 Sep 2007 19:06:58 +0000 Re: Movie reviewhttps://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1470,from=rss#post1470https://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1470,from=rss#post1470Actually there are 2 version to Highlander 2, one was they were aliens. That one actually sat better with me. The second version was that immortals were from the very distant past. All in all, if not for Sean Conery being in it and a lot of his one liners this would have been a straight to video movie.nondisclosed_email@example.com (toddcross)Thu, 20 Sep 2007 11:33:05 +0000 Re: Movie reviewhttps://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1465,from=rss#post1465https://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1465,from=rss#post1465Ugh, I thought the second one was terrible. It turns out they were all aliens? Ptooey!nondisclosed_email@example.com (paulv70)Thu, 20 Sep 2007 10:04:26 +0000 Re: Movie reviewhttps://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1462,from=rss#post1462https://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1462,from=rss#post1462You have to watch the three movies with Lambert in a certain order. Highlander Highlander 3 Highlander 2 That gives the time line a little help. But the 3rd one was just kind of a rehash of the first. The second movie was ok and I have seen some royally bad movies so an 'ok' is high praise. nondisclosed_email@example.com (toddcross)Thu, 20 Sep 2007 09:55:33 +0000 Re: Movie reviewhttps://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1457,from=rss#post1457https://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1457,from=rss#post1457Unless is a feature film with Christopher Lambert in it I will not watch it. The later Highlander's were cheezy to say the least. As a side note: A friend of mine has a copy of Highlander II which is a bootleg he got at a comic convention when the movie was about 6 months from coming out and it is so different than the actual release. It has over 1 hour of an extended ending that was never ever show in theaters and makes the whole movie a far different film than was released. In fact there was about a 15 min part where Conner is above the shield looking at a blue sky. that all folks... nondisclosed_email@example.com (Chucklbunny)Thu, 20 Sep 2007 07:58:45 +0000 Re: Movie reviewhttps://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1454,from=rss#post1454https://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1454,from=rss#post1454I'm still pretty jaded after the second one (what a poc that was) but I may check it out.nondisclosed_email@example.com (paulv70)Thu, 20 Sep 2007 07:15:44 +0000 Re: Movie reviewhttps://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1452,from=rss#post1452https://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1452,from=rss#post1452When it comes to Highlander, stick to the TV show. And I mean the FIRST TV show. And not the last season or the last episode of the season before that. (Registered member of Clan Denial, BTW). I guess most people love the movies. Just not me. And why they decided to make The Raven a piece of crap too, I will never know. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Xezlec)Thu, 20 Sep 2007 00:32:21 +0000 Movie reviewhttps://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1444,from=rss#post1444https://bthecollectors.runboard.com/p1444,from=rss#post1444Highlander:The Source It finally came, the forth installment to the Highlander films. This one is the continuation of the third film in whick Duncan Mcleod was the main character. The movie started out pretty good. Giving us a glimpse into what the origin of the immortals was. At least that is what they told us. The movie was slow going, you never got a clear answer as to where the immortals came from, and the ending was thankfully the ending. For a movie franchise that boasted beheadings this movie had one maybe two head chopped off. The plot got lost in itself, not much in the way of special effects, and the dialouge was bad. Instead of any worthy speaches it was mostly one liners that had little to do with anything. Any thoughts on this one folks?nondisclosed_email@example.com (toddcross)Wed, 19 Sep 2007 15:39:22 +0000
