Epiphany: I DREAM ABOUT THE SAME PLACE CONSTANTLY!
Like, I have a mental town I constantly visit. It looks like a large city, nothing but buildings on long streets, but from what I have seen it’s not huge. Also, it’s always pitch black, except that the businesses on the street all have colorful neon signs., but even at that, everything seems painted black, even the sidewalk and street. There are no stars in the sky. It might be a roof for all I know. The buildings are an odd mix of businesses and residential, with the occasional narrow dark alley. No cars ever drive by. It is the same every time I remember, but I remember one dream I went on a parkour type run through the city finding different zones with different color schemes, always pure black but with lines of glowing color like a Tron type thing, sometimes even above or below the original city. I believe I saw flying cars in that one.
There is one restaurant I have visited a couple times. The outside has a neon sign made to look like a Dia de los Muertos sugar skull, and the inside is painted different colors almost like neon colors but less saturated. Each wall is a color, the tables are a certain color, ect. and they serve New Orleans food. It has been the same both times I remember.
Another location that appears a couple times is a large 2 story mall.It is expansive, with a large variety of stores, some are the typical mall food places. The video game store is basically in a long archway, no doors or anything, across from it is this one pizza place from one mall I used to go to but didnt really like. Every dream that I visit this mall, it gets one or more wings or halls, but otherwise stays the same every time.
I am suspicious that the log cabbin lookout center, and suburban area are on the outskirts of this city where the sun is allowed to shine.

I suspect you have seen a Sci Fi thriller called (amazingly enough) DARK CITY.
The short of it is the city is on a space ship that is always turned away from the sun, so always dark. The city itself is manipulated by the aliens so it is always familiar but changing in small ways on a regular basis. The aliens even play with peoples memories, so the people don't realize their lives and city have changed.

@Cattrina: I've actually been playing close to no video games as of late due to everything going on. That would make a very interesting level though.
@Jintosh: That sounds fantastic actually. I should check that out.

Come to think of it, I can't remember any cars being in the movie...if you dreamed a dream THAT close without seeing the movie first, that would be quite amazing.
