Should we write our own book?
A scathing review has appeared under the Amazon.com book listing. Everyone here can write similar reviews so that no one in their right mind would consider buying the Amazon book. The only way to beat the eBay listing is to create our own book and list it in exactly the same way, but include considerable braggadocio about how our book is "the only authentic guide".
Some of you will know that our own object catalog originated in an effort to create a book about the objects. For that reason, the task should be fairly strait forward. All we have to do is copy our own object descriptions and use images from our own collections (to avoid copyright issues). Images in our catalog that are up to par, we can just copy. Images that are not up to par should be replaced anyhow.
The book can include an introduction by Chuckles that gives appropriate credit to Paul. Everyone on the forum who wishes to be included can be listed as an author. That way we will all be published authors. We can easily publish it through Lulu. I can do that and either do it at no profit or have the funds placed in some kind of account for the forum.
There would be a big advantage to having a legitimate book available. It could be used on a regular basis to draw attention to the miniseries. We could send a copy to Chris, Laura, and Paul—and maybe light a fire under their butts.
If we decide to do this, we can create a separate runboard forum called Objects from The Lost Room. I can get it started. I know just how to organize it so that it will translate easily into a book. Basically, I will organize it like our own catalog and people can discuss each "chapter" in the post for each object. Also, in the post for each object, people can post any pictures of their own objects that might be useful for the catalog. I can find out what the parameters are for pictures in a book on Lulu.

Re: Should we write our own book?
This actually sounds like a whole lotta fun.
Can I propose an entire chapter devoted to the Conroy Experiment?

Re: Should we write our own book?
I hope the motivation for this has not died out. It is a worthy endeavor, and I would love to take part.

Re: Should we write our own book?
We kind of got the wind kicked out of us. I am not sure anyone has the will to put it together any more.
We have been hard at this for almost a decade now. It has been a long emotional roller-coaster ride. When The Lost Room came out, Elle Fanning looked like this:
Now she looks like this:
If you think you have the stomach for another go at it, we can certainly talk about the possibility.
