Re: new to The Motel Room

How did you confirm that this was the correct format for a 1961 license? Was it already a period license and you just changed the information ?

Re: new to The Motel Room

I found a cal license from 1945 and one from 1958. The one from 45 looks way cooler. Also the the 58 image is a copy of a copy and would take major effort to work up.

It was common place for DMV to use older blanks until they ran out, so its possible that a photo could be place on a older printed paper form. At least that's a possibility.

Take a closer look at the right eye on the McCleister license. And Merry Christmas Jintosh

The reason I'm setting the issue date at 1958 is it leaves room for the Christmas/Wedding Photo date of 1959 and having an expiration date of 1961 is just darn amusing. Below is an image and link to a LA Time story

As you can see below the older license were actually negative phot copies of forms fill out at dmv and kept on file. A number of originals forms could be shot as one large sheet then cut up and mailed out.

Look Tarzan's dad!

That´s way too cool!

Now we just need Chris, Paul or Laura to confirm that as a canon prop emoticon

I agree it looks beautiful, but he's saying he copied the Eddie drivers license from a 1945 one, so as great as it looks, it's not accurate.

I think I just earned my newbie merit badge. Yup, I got to go with the 1958 one <sigh>. Thanks for flashing the card deck of reason on me, I needed that. Sometimes an outside voice will save you from endless looping. Going to save next attempt in vector format so no jaggies lie waiting for closer inspection. If I can nail this one down I'm going to send it out for offset, maybe a slightly raised ink.

Since dmv has gone digital camera all the ids in the future will be made of tiny boxes. This begs the question any items printed on an inkjet in some sense are not conical. [note to self: get a life]

Its still Christmas, so I hope you are have a good one.

Before you spend more time on the other license....

...we need to verify if a California license is even going to be acceptable. I have trouble keeping track of minor facts, but shouldn't this be a New Mexico license if we're going for Authenticity?

Where does Mable live?

When the duct tape is pulled away from the ticket we see the words Willbrook Arizona.
I checked Google maps there is a Willbrook in ill. and one in cal. No Willbrook Arizona.

Is it possible that the but ticket just had a typo on the part of the printer?

Ockham's razor

If Joe and Wally tried to find the location of Willbrook AZ. it would be clear they needed to try and find the name for each state on the bus route: TX, NM, CA.

Of course this all happened off camera.

They arrive in front of the library and all is well.

I checked Willbrook it had a Library in the 1960s and the community is semi rural, and its a stones throw from LA.

Check out "The Sood" board sometime. It is really cool how Exyooper found all the actual sites of the film locations.

The Library is listed as WILLOWBROOK, AZ

But the Real life library appears to be in Santa Fe, NM

But the fiction is the thing. So AZ license should be what to go for.

Somebody else want to chime in ?? Exyooper ?

Arguably, once they were married they could have moved....but Eddie knew where to go to find his wife, so that's unlikely.

IMO Eddie's is from Willowbrook, AZ. The bus ticket had Willowbrook as the starting point of his trip, but that is circumstantial. Joe & Wally went there and found the article about Mabel and she lived there which leads me to believe that was his home town.

As to the statement of me finding all the shooting locations, not so fast. Ruber's hallucination scene is impossible to pin point without visiting Albuquerque.

Re: new to The Motel Room

Thank you gentlemen Willowbrook, az IT IS.

Hows about I place it as a replacement for Kingsman Az?

I'm working on the cities in the bus ticket one through nine

la
Barstow
yucca
Willbrook (kingsman,az)
Ash Fork
Flagstaff
Gallup
Albuquerque
Amarillo

All on old Route 66

That would be three hops from Willbrook to Gallup
thus the number three got punched.

Now I know why the bus service is call Yucca Transit lines
it headquarter could be in Yucca, AZ
