The car non-object
Okay, we agree that the car is not an object because it was not IN the room during the event. But it is used in the show, so it's more of a Location.
So what do we know about the car ? Could it be circa 1961 ???????
If Eddie owned the car and then was plucked out of time, then someone else would have bought "his" car.

Re: The car non-object
Eddie didn't have a car, he was travelling by bus. Why travel by bus if you own a car? If you use that logic then what about his home and all his possessions there too and his family and theirs and so on and so forth?

Re: The car non-object
I think he means the car shown outside the Room, when you look through the window.
But the Creators have said the view outside is just an illusion, and there is nothing outside the Room... therefore the car would not be an Object.

Re: The car non-object
yes, the car is not an object. An it could still have been Eddie's. I own a car and still took the bus when I wanted to go to vegas for a few days of gambling. I have a problem with driving long distances, I tend to get tired and fall asleep !
But that's not the point. The car is an oddity in a modern movie. My question still stands : Is it vintage 1961 ????

Re: The car non-object
The car is a black 1962 Lincoln Continental with suicide doors and tan interior.
they can be found for sale on ebay from time to time.
To buy one can cost between $4000 - $40,000 depending on condition.
I think the weasel had that car for a reason...he either liked the old feel of it...or he was facinated by things from the early 60's due to his Object research.

Thanks ! I did creative writing for a while and the teacher made us aware of everything we put into a story. Things were either there to make a point, paint a mental picture, or to mislead.
So the unusual car can be there to paint a picture of Weasels likes/dislikes as you said, or possibly to even mislead other collectors or it could even be added by the writers to make conversation as to whether or not it could be an object.
A conversation piece... The writers are very good and created a wonderful world for us to discuss and obsess over.

Re: The car non-object
There's nothing outside the Motel Room, but the images you see are the same images you'd see out of room 10 at the Sunshine Motel if you were there during the Event. Though the images might have been altered by the Event.
Re: the vintage of the Weasel's car: as I recall Craig Baxley, the director of the first and third episodes, selected it, because it's a damn cool car. I don't recall us specifying the model in the scripts. But it makes sense thematically and that might be why it was selected. An Object hunter would obsess on things that *could* be an Object, so he might get a car from the appropriate era on the vague hope that it's an Object, or because it might have an Object in it (stuck between the seat cushions or something), or because it might give him a useful insight on the Objects.

Re: The car non-object
That is very insightful. Our own forum is a good example of what you are describing. As a result of looking for objects 24/7 we have become obsessed with anything from that era.
