bought one !

Ok [sign in to see URL] bought The Iron ! Its as close a match as I could find considering the low quality screenshots I could get. It looks 98% correct. It's a Universal "Stewardess" model.

I will have to black out the "universal" logo ......I hope you all like it ! emoticon

I'm not completely convinced of the model, but I see no reason to blank out the name. You can't see the top well enough in the picture to tell if the name is present.

Don't be in such a hurry Chuckles. If we were to somehow find all the objects tomorrow, what would we do for the rest of our lives?

I think that one looks pretty good and the nicest feature is the removable cord. From the screenshot it looks like the Object iron doesn't have one.

Honestly, I don't think it's the right one. But on the outside chance that you are right, I went right out and bought the exact same model. If we are both wrong, we can call it the Universal Blunder.

When you guys get em, be sure to take some pics at a similar angle to the screen shot. That should help us settle it.

In the mean time, what do you think of one?

Why not, as Wally would say! You too can be a part of the Universal Blunder.

Look at what I started !! Just like a pack of lemmings !! emoticon emoticon

[sign in to see URL] auction you posted is the same model as the one I bought !

[sign in to see URL] compared the one I bought to the iron in the vault and it matched on so many points that I considered it close enough. if you look closely at the vault pic you can see the unplugged cord wound up and tucked under the handle. you can make out the knob in the center and the plug receptacle to the right and rear of the handle. also the "shelf" thingy across the rear seems to match also. the shape of the handle is a match too. also the cord is black (which matches) and most travel irons on ebay have a tan or biege cord.

[sign in to see URL] you get the same one as me ?

Universal Blunder !! I LIKE IT !! Come on [sign in to see URL] go down Blunder Blvd !! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

In my opinion, this could be the correct iron. The support strut, plug, and water cap are in exactly the right place. The apparent roundness of the structure in the back could be the result of lighting and distortion. Other apparent differences could be the result of distortion from the surrounding glass case. The camera in the vault was filming from a closer angle than I took this picture, thus causing certain features to seem distended.

Naturally, I would like to believe that I have the right iron, but I cannot make an airtight case. The proof that I am wrong would be to find an iron that is a better match.
